Since the new MBPros are running a version of 10.5.5 that none of the other machines are, I can't help but wonder if the problem lies there. I tried moving that image over to the new machine and after answering Fusion's question about whether or not I've moved or copied the image I get a fatal kernel/stack error message and that's the end of that so to speak. I was able to successfully install OS X Server on the old MBPro and it's running fine there. I've certainly seen stranger things over the years and I'll probably try that over the next few days depending on what happens in this thread. Since the XP image is running just fine I am having a hard time believing that I would need to reinstall from the DVD or the disk image on the site. Trying to install it on the new MBPro isn't happening. I am not running Bootcamp as some of you are so I can't speak to that issue. I did have to re-activate XP but that was painless and took less than 3 seconds.

One of the first things that I did was to run Fusion 2 and boot up the XP image that I had been using. 2 GB of memory on that one and 120 hard drive. The old machine was a MBPro from 2 generations ago. The new machine is a 2.53, 4 GB of memory and a 320 hard drive. I moved all of the user accounts over, all of the documents relating to those accounts and the Applications. I didn't even wait to install the new Migration Assistant (which I probably should have done). Well, I ran the Migration Assistant as soon as I was presented with the option during setup.
